Afrobeat Culture Federator

Who else but Rachid Taha, to embody the values of humanity and tolerance advocated by the organizers of Festival Live Energy? As a defender of a plural identity in France for more than 30 years, particularly with his former group Cart De Sejour (Residence Card), Rachid - the matchmaker of rockabilly and chaâbi is sharper and crazier than ever! Author of “Douce France” and “Rock the Casbah”; French magazine Les Inrockuptibles, described him as “the one that is Sinbad, John Wayne, Alan Vega...” His music is a mix of rock, electro, rai and Algerian folk. Billed with Rachid Taha for this first edition of the festival is Vaudou Game - a group with a good dose of afro groove, engaged words - sung in the manner of a Fela Kuti and also inspired by the voodoo tradition, all sprinkled with a good exuberant mood. Here is the explosive recipe of Voodoo Game, a group formed by the Togolese singer and guitarist Peter Solo. To complete the line-up at the 1,200 capacity venue – Le Rocher De Palmer is the Bordeaux based Afrobeat group Afro Social Club – a French collective of 9 musicians motivated by Fela Kuti’s musical legacy.
